Welcome to our online Christmas Letter for 2002.

Seasons Greetings from our home to yours.
Join us for a brief update on our family this past year.

Jacinda turned 11 this year and is in the 6th
grade. She is very excited to be part of the Impact youth at church and
finds great delight in the fact that Mom and Dad feel really old having a
child in middle school! Her favorite subject in school this year is
reading and when she's done with her school work, there's a good chance
you'll find her with her nose in a book reading for fun. Nancy Drew and
Trixie Belden books are some of her favorites (although she will read
anything). She continues to take piano lessons and has started to learn
the flute as well. This is her last year in Junior Bible Quiz. The last 2
years her team has placed as one of the two top teams in the state of
Nebraska and qualified to compete in regional competition - the first year
in Minneapolis and this last year in Cedar Rapids, IA. For this year's
Christmas musical at church, The Gospel According to Scrooge, Jaci was
part of the choir/cast and even was a dancer on three of the songs. She is
turning into quite the young lady. |

Mikayla is excited to be 8 and in 3rd grade
this year. She is our social girl that is always wondering what we can do
next! When we asked her what she liked about this past year besides having
a new brother, she said her favorite thing was making new friends. Always
the willing helper, she is often found helping Mom cooking and cleaning or
helping Dad with one of his projects around the house or yard. She says
her favorite subject in school this year is history (we just can't figure
out where she got that from!). She enjoys riding her scooter when the
weather is nice outside, but says she is becoming a reader, too - she
likes the American Girl books. This is Kayla's second year in Junior Bible
Quiz and she enjoys the competitions. She loves music and has started
taking piano lessons this year. Quite frequently we hear her singing
and/or playing a new and original song she has composed herself. She sang
a solo in the children's Christmas musical at church and also sang and
played the part of a school girl in several songs/scenes of the adult
musical as well. Her excitement for life is contagious to all those around
her. |

Joshua is a big 4 year old and thrilled to be
in pre-school. We continue to be amazed at the amount of energy he
constantly displays! If he's not running or jumping, he is marching around
being a drummer, using anything handy as a drum and drumsticks. Josh
enjoys playing outside anytime he can, regardless of what the weather is
like. He loves to play zoom-zooms (cars/trucks, etc.) or to build things
with his toy tools, blocks and legos - he even had a Bob the Builder
birthday party this year. He is also perfecting the art of being a brother
by finding new ways to annoy his sisters, and is anxiously awaiting the
time that he can teach his little brother how to do all the cool things he
knows how to do! In the pre-school musical at church this year, Josh gets
to play the part of Joseph. However, he aspires to play Tiny Tim in the
adult musical and then eventually play the Scrooge part like cousin Gary
(since he already has Scrooge's lines memorized)! He keeps us on our toes. |

Zachariah is almost 5 months old as we write
this. When we asked the children what their favorite part of this last
year was, we unanimously heard, "Zachary being born!" As you can
imagine, he gets lots of love and attention from his siblings. He is a
good-natured baby who only cries when something hurts or if he's really
hungry, and he has been a good sleeper at night from the start. His
favorite activities are "talking" to everyone and playing toys
on the floor with his brother and sisters. His newest tricks include
saying Da-da and rolling over. Zach is a joy to us all! |

| This year, Barb & Ed have enjoyed trying
to keep up with our four young blessings here with us. Our lives have been
changed and we continue to heal from the death of our newborn daughter
Tishanna last July 18th. Butterflies have become special to each one of us
as God continues to use them in many ways to remind us of Tisha and of His
love for us. Our family has grown closer together and we have appreciated
all the special moments in life even more. Homeschooling has been going
well and is very rewarding. We are blessed beyond measure with wonderful
friends and enjoy serving in ministry every week. We survived the big hail
storm in June, enduring softball-plus size hail resulting in lots of dents
and broken glass. We've seen good growth and consistency in the computer
support business this year as well. If you want to see more family
pictures, visit us online at: Uden.68870.com |
May Jesus' love fill your home throughout the holidays.
